Mark your calendar for our 55th Winter Carnival
December 13, 2023

It’s a beloved Richmond Hill tradition, so mark your calendar for the 55th annual Winter Carnival!

It’s set for Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 3 and 4, 2024, at Mill Pond Park.

The volunteer Winter Carnival Committee is planning a fun mix of traditional and new events and activities, perfect for families to enjoy.

Our traditional events will, of course, include the popular Sunday morning pancake breakfast, the trackless train ride, children’s games, woodcarver, Circus Jonathan, and the interactive, musical Zoosemobile.

Returning for a second year will be the Saturday evening spaghetti dinner, The Dark Knight and his Batmobile, and indigenous activities lead by Odeiwin: Connect.

New this year will be a climbing wall for children, educational wildlife displays, survivalist  activities, and much more.

Ookpik, our selfie-magnet mascot, invites everyone to enjoy carnival weekend. Admission is free; but everyone is encouraged to purchase our collectible carnival button.

See you in February!

Big news! On Feb 4, 2023, Richmond Hill MPs Majid Jowhari and Leah Taylor Roy announced that the Richmond Hill Winter Carnival is receiving a non-repayable contribution
February 8, 2023

Big news! Richmond Hill MPs Majid Jowhari and Leah Taylor Roy announced that the Richmond Hill Winter Carnival is receiving a non-repayable contribution, as part of the Government of Canada's Tourism Relief Fund, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.

This support means so much to our Winter Carnival volunteer committee, as we get our in-person carnival started again after a few years of COVID inaction!

Committee co-chair Doug Elliott accepted the official proclamation of the federal contribution on stage today, to much applause from the audience.

Our diamond and platinum sponsor boards show tangible recognition of vital support to this year’s carnival. Thanks so much!

Bonne nouvelle!

Merci beaucoup!
