Easy! We have many positions available for volunteers, from the Friday evening through to the end of the Carnival at 6pm Sunday. You can register as an individual, or fill in the Group Name field if you’re volunteering with others as a group (whether you’re coworkers, family or friends).
Volunteering is a responsibility and a commitment to your community that has many rewards. We ask that you take your commitment seriously since the success of our event depends upon a strong team of committed volunteers. In exchange, students may use the volunteer hours accrued at Richmond Hill Winter Carnival towards their accrual of Community Involvement Hours.
Thank you to everyone that has registered to be one of our Volunteers! Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather.
Please be aware that the following conditions apply:
- Volunteers who require a change to their assigned hours or duties should submit their request by emailing the volunteer coordinator at least 48-hours before the shift, otherwise requests for changes may not be possible.
- The volunteer coordinator requires a minimum of 48-hours notice from students who are no longer able to fulfill their commitment. An email notice summarizing the names of students who failed to show up for their scheduled shifts without the required email correspondence, will be sent to the students’ school Guidance Department.
Jobs are both indoors and outdoors, including selling Carnival Buttons, Face Painting, Kitchen/Cooking help, serving Candy Floss, and many more.
A Special Note: If you are a High School Student in Richmond Hill, you will be canvassed through your respective school, and all hours served will count toward your required forty (40) hours of community service.
Minimum age to volunteer is 12. Please check out our Volunteer Rules.
A big thank you to Civic York for helping promote volunteering at the Richmond Hill Winter Carnival, and other events, amongst the community.
