Rules & Regulations
All games are at the Elvis Stojko Arena
- Games will consist of three 15 minute running time periods, with the last three minutes of the game being stop time. If a 5 goal differential or more exists, running time will continue.
- Game times may vary depending upon the game starting times and available ice time allotted. The committee reserves the right to shorten the length of the game if time dictates.
- Penalties will be two minutes in length.
- NO SLAP SHOTS AND NO BODY CONTACT is allowed. Any player given two penalties in the same game for body contact will be asked to leave the ice surface for the remainder of that game.
- Fighting or foul language will not be tolerated and may result in suspension from the competition.
- Players and coaches are expected to respect the decisions of the Referees. In the case of an on ice dispute, the decisions of the Referees are final.
- Any activity that is deemed “unsportsmanlike conduct” by a referee or committee member will result in a player, coach or parent to be asked to leave the arena.
- The competition will be set up in a point system with 2 points for a win; 1 point for a tie & 0 points for a loss. In the event of a tie, teams advancing to the Finals will be determined as follows:
- If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two teams advances;
- If the two teams did not play each other, or if three or more teams are tied, the teams with the lowest goals against advance;
- If still tied, the teams with the lowest total penalty minutes will advance.
- In the event there is a tie in the Final Game at the Mill Pond, the winner will be determined as follows:
- A 5 minute period of sudden death (first goal wins);
- If there is no goal, a 3 man shootout (the team with the most goals wins);
- If still no winner determined, a sudden death shootout (first goal wins) – the entire rotation of players must shoot before players have a second shot.
