2008 Photography Competition

The Richmond Hill Winter Carnival Committee, in partnership with the Richmond Hill Camera Club presents: A Photography Competition.

Amateur photographers of all ages are invited to submit digital photographs taken at the Richmond Hill Winter Carnival February 1st to February 3rd, 2008, in the following categories:

• Carnival Highlights
• Make me Laugh
• Pets at the Carnival

Competition Guidelines

• Images must be taken at the 2008 Richmond Hill Winter Carnival
• Each entrant may submit a maximum of three images, 1 per category.
• Images must be in jpeg format
• Either Color or Black and White is acceptable
• The longest side of the image must not be more than 1024 pixels
• Entries must be received by midnight Friday, February 8, 2008

Eligibility

• All amateur photographers are eligible.
• There are 3 age categories:
  1. Under 12
  2. 12 to 17
  3. 18 and older
  Please indicate which age group you are in.

Judging Criteria

• Quality of work
• Appropriateness to the Winter Carnival categories as listed above
• Photographs must have been taken at the Winter Carnival between February 1st and February 3rd, 2008
• By entering this contest you attest that the images you have entered were taken by you and comply with the above guidelines
• No commercial application of your images is expected; consequently no model releases are being required

All images submitted become the property of the Winter Carnival Committee. Judging of the images will be carried out by a Richmond Hill Camera Club committee. Decisions of the judges will be final.

First and second prizes in each category will be awarded.

3. Your e-mail address
4. Your age group (i.e. "Under 12", "12 to 17" or "18 and older")
5. The category of the image (i.e."Carnival Highlights", "Make me Laugh" or "Pets at the Carnival")
6. The title of your image

The "Subject:" line of your email should be "Carnival Competition"
