What if there is no ice this year?
The Carnival is always on the specified weekend, regardless if there is ice or not. If there is no ice, all activities and events that were supposed to be on the ice are relocated around Mill Pond. Except for ice skating, of course.

Do all of your activities take place at the Mill Pond Park?
Yes, all of our activities take place at Mill Pond Park. Please look at our directions to see how to get to the Carnival, and information about parking.

Is there an admission fee?
While there is no admission fee for the Richmond Hill Winter Carnival, we would appreciate you purchasing a $2 Carnival button. When you purchase a Carnival Button you are entered in a draw to win one of many great prizes. Each Button has a unique number and on Carnival Sunday we draw for prizes. Winning numbers are published on the Carnival web site. Additionally, just by wearing a Carnival button you will have the opportunity to win a random spot prize while at The Carnival.

Are there activities for kids?
There certainly are many activities for kids! From Face Painting to Pony Rides, from a Colouring Contest to seeing live animals like porcupines and eagles, there is something for everyone that’s kid at heart. We have a list of most of our events and activities that you can look at.

Can I rent skates at the Carnival?
Some years there are skates available to rent, however this year there are not.

Are dogs allowed at the Carnival?
Dogs, and their owners, are very welcome at the Carnival. We also have a Big Dog Obedience show on Carnival Sunday.

How do I volunteer?
We couldn’t have a Carnival without the many volunteers that help us out year after year. Many people have been volunteering for quite a few years. We have more information about becoming a volunteer, as well as a registration form.

How do I become a sponsor?
We also couldn’t have a Carnival without the many sponsors that become a part of Carnival each year. There are different levels of sponsorship, and different things to be sponsored. We have more information about becoming a sponsor, as well as contact information.
